Expo, schedule and race morning

Health & Fitness Expo at the Richmond Raceway Infield (2026 edition — 49th running, race day Sat Nov 14, 2026) · Richmond, VA

Packet pickup

Where
Health & Fitness Expo at the Richmond Raceway Infield (2026 edition — 49th running, race day Sat Nov 14, 2026)600 E Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222 — enter via Gate 4 or Gate 6 (the race publishes dropped pins for both; the expo page's own map pin resolves to 900 E Laburnum Ave)
Walk to the start line
On footNOT walkable. The expo is roughly 4 miles north of the marathon start at Broad & 1st St — about 3.1-3.5 mi straight-line and 3.9-4.4 mi by road, ~10-15 min drive. NOTE: richmondmarathon.org never states this distance; it is computed from the race's own published map pins (expo gate pin 37.585378,-77.4160184; Richmond Raceway 37.5922778,-77.4193382; marathon start pin 37.5451482,-77.4412286) and an OSRM driving route. Treat the number as derived, not official. The race's own answer to 'how do I get there' is: free parking in the Raceway surface lots, or the free roundtrip shuttle from the Omni Richmond Hotel (Cary St, outside the atrium entrance), which runs roughly every 30 min and takes about 20 min each way.

Columns are [day, time, what, where]. All times ET. This is the 2026 edition (49th running, Saturday November 14, 2026) — the next edition IS announced and the schedule page is already updated to 2026, so nothing here is carried over from 2025 except where flagged. Sourced from richmondmarathon.org: /race-weekend/event-schedule/, /race-weekend/expo/, /faq/, /races/marathon/, /races/half-marathon/, /races/8k/, /race-weekend/travel/parking/, /race-weekend/travel/transportation/, /race-weekend/travel/directions/. Checked 2026-08-26. Start and finish are NOT in the same place: start is on Broad St downtown, finish is on 5th St north of Tredegar St by the riverfront, about 6-7 blocks / 0.75 mi apart. There is NO pre-race shuttle from hotels or parking to the start; most downtown hotels are walking distance. Race recommends arriving 45-60 min before your start, closer to 60 if checking a bag. You may move BACK to a slower corral/wave but never forward.

Getting there

Plan to walk on race morning and treat every wheeled option as a backup. GRTC is zero-fare citywide, which the race itself points out, but on the 2025 marathon Saturday GRTC put more than a dozen routes plus the Pulse on detour starting at 4:00 a.m., with temporary stop closures along the course, and GRTC has not published Saturday first-departure times, so a bus is not a reliable way to make a 7:00 a.m. corral. There is no race-morning shuttle. The free shuttle everyone hears about is the expo shuttle running from the Omni Richmond Hotel to the Richmond Raceway infield on Thursday and Friday only, with the last drop-off 30 minutes before the expo closes (6:30 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Friday). The one shuttle that does run on Saturday runs the wrong direction on purpose: a free shuttle carries finishers and spectators from the Brown's Island post-race party back up to the start-area parking, operating on 7th Street from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If you parked near the start, that is your ride back to the car, and it is also the easy way to avoid walking uphill on trashed legs.

Parking near the course endpoints

These are mapped garages near the course, not a promise of race-day access. Check closures and pre-booking rules with the organizer.
