Where the race listings come from

The calendar combines public listings from registration platforms including RunSignUp, Race Roster, UltraSignup and ACTIVE, along with races added from organizer information and reader submissions. Race pages link to the source listing so you can check the details before entering.

RunRace USA is a race-discovery calendar. The event organizer handles registration, course changes, cancellations and refunds. Its latest announcement takes priority over a calendar listing.

How the calendar is maintained

The feed and calendars refresh nightly. Automated checks remove expired dates from upcoming lists, filter recognizable non-running activities, and combine clear duplicate listings while preserving their source links. Ambiguous matches stay separate to avoid combining different races.

Dates, distances and fees can change between updates. Some small races do not publish through the platforms we cover, so the calendar is not a complete census of every US event. Check the source for the current price, entry availability, start time and exact start location.

What the counts and locations mean

A recurring series can have several dates in the downloadable data but appear as one grouped event in the finder. Distance categories can overlap when an event offers, for example, both a 5K and a half marathon.

City calendars follow the location supplied in the listing. Map positions and distance searches may use city or ZIP-code coordinates; they are not directions to the start line. Use the organizer's course and parking instructions on race day.

Report a missing race or a correction

Use Add a Race and include the organizer or registration URL. For a correction, email [email protected] with the existing RunRace USA listing, the corrected details and an official source.

Featured listings and affiliate links

Standard race submissions are free. Paid featured placements are labelled Featured. Some registration and hotel links are affiliate links; RunRace USA may earn a commission when you use them. See Advertise for paid placement options.

Email privacy

Race alerts use your email, followed states, optional ZIP radius and distance preferences to select races. New weekly subscriptions receive a shortlist on Fridays when matches are available. Earlier monthly subscriptions stay monthly unless you choose weekly alerts. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Subscriber addresses are not published or sold.

We record aggregate page visits and outbound clicks, including a coarse referral or campaign source. These analytics do not store an email address, IP address or visitor identifier.

Use and cite the data

The calendar is available as a free JSON dataset. The data documentation explains the fields, endpoints and attribution terms. Cite RunRace USA and include the dataset's update date when sharing figures, since the calendar changes daily.
