Where to watch
A course-aware spectator plan for Pittsburgh.
Read the geography first
The course returns toward its starting district. Use the map to choose a fixed anchor and the finish, and never build a plan that requires crossing the live route.
Gold is the selected modeled course; route provenance is stated beside the flyover.

Moving around race morning
Two separate problems: getting to the corral, and getting back to your room after 26.2 miles. The car solves neither. Closures run from about 1:45 a.m. Sunday to roughly 2:30 p.m., with most roads targeted to reopen by 3 to 3:30 p.m. and the finish area on the Boulevard of the Allies not until about 6 to 6:30 p.m. P3R posts no-parking signs along every closed street and will tow vehicles left on them, so if your rental is on a street rather than in a garage, move it Saturday. Downtown bus access is heavily restricted on race morning, so light rail plus your feet is the reliable combination. Buy fares in advance or use mobile ticketing; PRT's TrueTime tracking is not reliable for detoured buses and detour notices are not posted at stops.
Course geometry provenance is stated beside the player; elevation profiles always use the same route loaded there. City geometry is OpenStreetMap, ODbL. Aerial imagery is from USGS and USDA; other images carry their own source credits. Weather figures use Open-Meteo reanalysis for April 28-May 6 across 2016-2025 at the start line. Schedule, prices and expo hours were checked in 2026-08-27 and are the fields most likely to move: confirm them on www.thepittsburghmarathon.com before you book anything. Spot an error?
